I believe I have a sound Blaster card and not getting any sound. I have checked the boxs to play system sounds made sure that the volume is not muted and turned up. I have Alsa installed went to sound and tried to play the test on each event but nothing. Any ideas. Thanks.

You did run alsaconf as root (su in terminal), right? (Don't laugh, just checking...)

Soundblaster cards should not be a problem. I wonder, did you turn off your mother board's sound card in the bios settings?

Malanrich! I'm a freaking retard!!! Thanks that fixed it. That is what happens when you spend late hours installing and testing distributions. I really like this one, Basic with a build your own environment. Thanks again.
