On that same netbook a Base install BTW) sleep does not work. When I try to revive it, it just reboots. Swap is there:

Code: Select all

# blkid
/dev/sda1: UUID="d35e2608-adba-4f6f-8acf-c998f0bfc145" TYPE="ext3"
/dev/sda2: UUID="fdcb4351-dc51-4c52-9e30-9de53fcaa52c" TYPE=")wap"
Is there some step I need to take?

Is that a typo? No s in swap.
TYPE=")wap"

That was a copy/paste from the terminal, but in fact blkid returns TYPE="swap"

OK, so I was clicking on the blinking power button to wake it up, but if I hit the space bar it seems to come back up more or less normally.

My bad...

Correct that: only worked once, after that just caused a reboot. So: sleep/suspend is definitely not working on this machine. Does it work for everyone else?

Found this discouraging comment in the Debian Wiki:
If the suspend / resume works well on your system, you are lucky
