Hi All!
Still loving antiX. Here's what feels like an obvious problem- I can't suspend. I know I didn't set up the swap file during install (didn't know what it meant...now I do). How do I run that command? I found something like wrsusp, but it didn't work, even when run in root. Also, to hit you guys with yet another question... how good is antiX at finding wireless signals out of the box? I've already put antiX on my desktop, but now I want to put it on my laptop as well. (IBM T42).
Thanks! Glad to be part of such a cool community.

With 8.5 have not found many wireless problems as long as you stay away from broadcom chips. I am not saying that they will not work or not work well, it is just not an"out of the box" configuration in my opinion. My familly has 4 laptops on wireless, one desktop wirless, and I have put antiX on another desktop and laptop both running wireless and they all work fine,"out of the box".
I think the best test for out of the box would be to try to run a live cd / live usb and see if it works. PS. if you would like to use WICD you would need to change the preferences, so I would suggest to use ceni for seeing if it would work.

Thanks! I never even thought of a liveCD. That makes perfect sense- I'll be sure to try it out.

Post the readout of
after booting live session on IBM Laptop. We can see what wireless card is used then.
As far as suspend goes. It works for me but I run a swap partition when I installed AntiX on my IBM T23. My IBM T23 readout below.
Code: Select all
inxi -F
