antiX community-
a friend of mine gave me his 6 year old toshiba satellite a215 laptop: i gb ram / 1.8 dual core amd 64 bit.
i tried about 8 different linux distributions on the laptop and found that they didn't"feel" right: being too slow, or too inflexible.
antiX is the perfect fit for this machine. everything works great. it is fast, as well.
i really like the lightweight desktop/file manager and access to the debian repositories.
this is a very solid distribution.
all the best to the antiX team.

Welcome!
Yea, I know the feeling, and I think t is a little sad that antix is close to the only thing that feels right, unless you have an umpteen core machine, with 128gigs of ram.
Have fun with it!

Welcome to the forum. AntiX can be run from old P II up to the i7. It os gentle on the older ones, but can give them new kids a trashing.
