Hello:
I'm new to antiX and so far I'm very impressed. I'm trying to download a bibliographic software package called bibus and was trying to change the repositories by makes changes in the /etc/apt/sources.list but I was unable to save them. I also tried adding the repositories from within synaptic and it didn't take the changes either.
I'm trying to add:
deb
========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://switch.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/bibus-biblio"
linktext was:"http://switch.dl.sourceforge.net/source ... bus-biblio"
====================================
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false ./
deb-src

linktext was:"http://switch.dl.sourceforge.net/source ... bus-biblio"
====================================
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false ./
the msg I got (using leafpad) was that I could not open the file to write.
Any help is appreciated.
thanks.

Never mind - solved the problem by reading the MEPIS link in the web brouser.
Typicallly I would just type sudo leafpad xxxx, however, I learned now that in this system I have to type su first to become root and then the password.
I apologize for the silly questions.
Best regards.

First of all, welcome to antiX, plvera.
antiX doesn't use sudo like some other distros ie Ubuntu, but if you really want to use sudo you'll need to edit the /etc/sudoers file.
Have fun with antiX

Please use"su" for console apps, and"sux" for gui apps.
