so you can try opening up synaptic and selecting for removal the following packages:
pay attention for errors or warnings about broken packages, as their might be some sharing of libraries.ii libreoffice-base-core 1:4.3.3-2+deb8u1~bpo70+1 i386 office productivity suite -- shared library

I thought, of course. That's what I am afraid. But all went well, in the menu was only the new version and it works. Thanks.dolphin_oracle wrote: pay attention for errors or warnings about broken packages, as their might be some sharing of libraries.

If you want to work with what you have now, fine. But my suggestion to do this in the cleanest possible way is this:
If you are satisfied that LibreOffice 5.0 works to your satisfaction, either obtain (or keep) a copy of the LibreOffice 5.0 software package(s).
Then remove ALL LibreOffice software, 4, 5, whatever is there now. Then install LibreOffice 5.0 using the new package(s).
Note that if you find a Debian repository containing LibreOffice 5.0 now or in the future, this won't be necessary. When you install the new software using only Debian packaging it will find previous versions and replace them with newer software once the Debian packaging of LibreOffice 5.0 is properly created.

This works well! File associations set up is not hard. Soon I will update my computer, then I install more correctly, first remove the old Office.

I am pretty sure you can remove everything you need to simply by removing libreoffice.core (see attached for what that takes with it). I did that and then installed 5.0 and all is copacetic. Posted step-by-step

Hello everybody!
I followed a similar strategy but downloaded the LibreOffice Still 4.4.5 package collection from the project's site. LibreOffice 5 doesn't work well for me on two different machines (one with 1GHz 32bit with newly installed MX-14 on it, other 2.1Ghz 64bit with Manjaro Xfce on it), it constantly is consuming 70%-100% CPU. LibreOffice 4.4.5 runs economically as it should. I tried to add a Debian backports repository (I'm new to Debian, coming from Manjaro), but it didn't install from command line telling me that it could not resolve the dependencies.
So I downloaded from libreoffice.org and installed manually with command line, but to my surprise the packages are listed on Synaptic.
