Hello. I would like to create a new icewm theme for the next release. I was thinking of staying with a dark theme, but this time adding a bit more eye candy. The theme I've been working on lately to meet this goal has been 3eNight. So far, I've stuck mostly to the elements that were already included with the theme. The only additions so far have been a few icons. Here's a screenshot of what I have so far:

I like the window dressings and taskbar (I think the menu background should be darker). Everything else is still"up in the air." Please feel free to provide suggestions for a wall, gtk2 theme, xmms skin, and icons. Thanks.

I like the menu and the horizontal conky, and I love the file manager (rox-filer?) theme; though I think I like the IceWM 'start' button in the current antiX theme a little better.

It's a nice theme. How do I get conky to run horizontal like you have it in this theme?

thanks.

You have to put all the information in .conkyrc (below # stuff after 'TEXT' will be formatted on screen) on one line.

I'm sure OU812 or others will post their .conkyrc files.
Actually, there may be some examples here:

I'm glad you like my conky, but it won't be the default conky in m8. The default conky should be a stripped-down version that would allow users to customize as they wish. What we might be able to do is include it on the iso as an option. For now, if you'd like my conky, please pm me and I'll"send" it to you.

P.S. Here's a screenshot with the the start button that I was looking for. (I did try using the one from the current theme, but it didn't seem to fit). I'm still looking for the right wall. And I'm still thinking of going with a darker menu. Perhaps the one from the"faux glass" theme would work.

Wow...that is awesome! Can you send me that theme, or at least tell me what I'd need to do to recreate it myself?

Of course. Send me a pm with your email address. I'll send you the original theme and my version of it. This way you can study the two versions to see I how I did it (basically the original theme had a flat toolbar with rounded active buttons and I simply"reversed" the symlinks so that it had a rounded toolbar with flat active parts - oh I and used icons from DarkT II, elox, and qbox). All parts of the theme were from freshmeat (see your bookmarks). I also used the icons from theme in the"start" menu since I thought they looked better than any others I had tried.

I'm also thinking of tweaking the"simplest black" theme from freshmeat in a similar way. Maybe we can get a few custom antix icewm themes on the iso. Maybe we can get some of Impuwat's fluxbox themes on the iso as well.

P.S. Links to the wall, icons, and gtk2 theme I'll post later. I'm at work and really should be doing work.

ICE-M - I also like the 3rd one the best. I think that the icons and gtk2 theme would work well in fluxbox also. Ideally, I would like to include this theme, a modified version of"simplest black" that I'm working on, and the lxicehybrid that I posted at box-look. I think that if anti approves, I'll include the themes with my walls in case users like them also.

I like the direction you are headed John. I love black as well but I need to have a little color involved somewhere. What do you think this? I've been using it for a few days and like the combination of basic black with a little color splashed in.

That's real sweet. I like the look. Where did you get the icons and gtk2 theme? Very nice.
