This is not in the repo (yet).
Get the image and headers from here.
To install, download the files and use dpkg -i *.deb
Ignore 'errors' about symbolic link. They are just non-fatal warnings.
Comments welcome.

Cool! Is this one gonna go in"final", or are we simply updating to keep up with the new Linux kernel series version that Linus recently announced? I have been able to run 3.3.1, 3.3.3, and 3.3.5 so far, each with positive results and no obvious operational issues (but I do see informational and warning messages when I manually install them). Hopefully I'll get a chance to fit this kernel on at least one or more of my antiX instances.

Seems to be working OK here. Will try out snapshot tonight.

afab4 - snapshot should now be able to save files greater than 2GB.
masinick - if this kernel works as intended re hardware, low RAM use (similar to or better than previous kernels), we'll go with it. IMO this kernel should be ok for old and spanking new boxes.

Rebooted. Installed to sda1 with cli-installer. No issues. It does take a good while to install though.
Made a 3GB snapshot and burned it to DVD. Posting this from live.anticapitalista wrote:afab4 - snapshot should now be able to save files greater than 2GB.

I got the kernel installed on my antiX core system; I'll report back once I get a chance to boot it and give it a little exercise, and I also hope to follow up with the same on my antiX-base M12.0 Pre-Final system as well.
Kernel and headers did install without issue using gdebi; will reboot and exercise it a bit, then report back.

So the 3.4.1 kernel works with antiX core M11.0. Will check the init=/bin/systemd option next, and try out on my base system implementation later as well.

The kernel seems to work just fine, ram usage is about the same as the 3.3.5 on this machine.

I'm putting the 3.4.1 image on the antiX core and antiX-base systems on my Gateway portable. Once I do, I'll initiate a series of tests, including checking out the systemd capabilities. This kernel has already done well on my Lenovo Y410 laptop; used it yesterday and even ran a VM beneath it and it held up fine.

OK, I have the New antiX 3.4.1 kernel available installed on all three of my test instances (two antiX-core, one each on my Lenovo 3000 Series Y410 laptop and another on my Gateway 2000 Series PA6A 17" portable), and an instance of antiX-base on the Gateway portable.
I booted this one, the base, with init=/bin/systemd. I observed most of the booting process occur rapidly, but it got hung up for almost a minute at the very last stage before displaying the desktop, so my configuration is certainly not optimized for systemd at this stage; that could be a configuration thing.
As far as the kernel itself, it runs well, and I've now tested it on the Lenovo and the Gateway and it works in both places.
Here are the vital statistics for the Gateway base instance:

Since my previous boot, I've kept the antiX-Base M12.0 Pre Final version running with the 3.4.1 kernel, and it has been rock solid. No issues to report with my typical usage, which is primarily Web browser, File Manager, and command line oriented, so I don't tax the system particularly hard. For my purposes, the system is perfect as it is now. It has now been up a full day; no problems whatsoever.

On Antix core 8.5 on my Amrel Laptop. 61MB of ram at idle using LXDE Anti. My inxi readout is just with LXTerminal open in LXDE.
Sound, Tap on mouse pad and wireless is working
All other kernel tests were trouble free on this old police laptop. I expect this one will be trouble free also.
Oh. I had to
to get a good install for

EEEPC 701SD. Everything working. Fast boot. 61 MB ram at idle in Icewm.
Readout is just with roxterm open. Funny how ram usage is the same between my above post with LXDE vs Icewm. I figured it would be smaller ram usage. I run conky on both Desktops also.

Are you running wicd? antiX-full has more background processes running than core and base, but they can be turned off in the installer.
Also icewm or fluxbox without rox desktop, drops RAM by about 6 MB or more.
