Hallo,
after installing mx-14 on a dell latitude D510 laptop only wlan is working with eth0. The ethernet card is a broadcom BCM 4401-BO. What can I do?
Thanks

We need a
to see your hardware and install.
Also. Did you md5sum the MX-14 iso before installing? The B44 driver should be in the kernel I should think.

Known Issues
The Sonics Silicon Backplane driver (ssb) conflicts with the wl driver (545388).
b44, b43, b43legacy and ssb are blacklisted by default as of broadcom-sta 5.10.91.9.3-3 (brcm80211 and brcmsmac since 5.100.82.38-1, 5.100.82.38-2 respectively).
This prevents use of any Ethernet device supported by b44.

Hi anticapitalista,
I have done the migration from mx-14.1.1 to mx-14.2 and reinstalled the broadcom-sta-dkms, but the same result: wireless connects with eth0, no lan possible.
Where is a .config file of the network-manager?

The warning about"nsf" is nothing to worry about. The computer is noticing that you have a partition using nsf file structures on the hard drive. I get that on every boot-up with several partitions, some of which are using nsf (windoze). Don't worry. __{{emoticon}}__
You have a Broadcom network card for eth0 AND a Intel PRO Wireless for wlan0. However from what you described, it appears that only wireless is working BUT is directed to the eth0. You need to correct that. Install the Broadcom drivers again with Synaptic.2zack wrote: $ inxi -F

nfs is a network share protocol. think same general purpose as samba, but its not samba. the warning is telling you its not starting the nfs daemon because there are no shared folders utilizing nfs (called exports)

What does ifconfig -a and iwconfig show?
Also maybe lspci... somewhere I would like to see the mac address associated to the interface and the network chips.

Hi again,
after rebooting only the wlan is running. When I typed"sudo modprobe b44" again, both wired and wireless are working.
What do you mean about that?
