I have made a system tray app that you can use the spacefm mount command to mount / unmount an usb drive. Well really any mount command and any file manager. I tend to use usb drives a lot on a few machines so I think it is nice to have access all the time in the tray. (that way I do not need to open the forum manager if all I want to do is download pictures or use the terminal __{{emoticon}}__ ) I am not sure how light it is, but if you would like to try it, it should be in the repo. So apt-get install usb-tray or search usb-tray in synaptic. Then to run, menu -> run Type usb-tray. Press OK.thriftee wrote: And I figured out the flashdrive. I just found out that pcmanfm will actually do fine as long as you insert it while the program is running. But yes, your spacefm did a nice job with it. I think I like its functionality better. LOL, EITHER is way better than trying to mount things manually.
I think it defaults to using rox and p mount, but if you right click on the tray icon you can select edit, change the mount command to udevil - mount and the unmount command to udevil -umount. Save, close, right click the tray icon and press reload.
Then if you would like it all the time
Menu -> run, type add-start -> put usb-tray in the command box and give it a sleep time of about 3 seconds, press apply.
