I am fairly new to linux. I have tried several live cds (openSuse, DSL, Ubuntu, and antix). I really liked DSL, thought Ubuntu would be better, but way too slow.

I have run the AntiX 7.5 live cd, and think it is something I can work with as well as learn from.

Now for my first lesson, how do I install to hard disk. I have tried the install button , but it comes up and asks me for a password. I have not set one up on this computer at all.

Is there a password I need to put in from demo to be able to install

You will probably find a lot of valuable information by searching this forum and the antiX section of MepisLovers (

That's OK, we all have to start somewhere. Glad you are giving antiX a try. Do let us know how it works out and what you like best - and also any areas you would either like to see us work on or any areas where you have questions.

Welcome aboard!
