This is a reprt from Channel 4 News on the rise of a fascist party - Golden Dawn, who since the elections last summer now have 18 Parliamentary seats - in Greece. This is the report which is based on the work done by a young film maker Konstantinos Georgousis.

Fortunately for us in the UK, the BNP (British National Party) has never made any headway. The UK has a first-past-the-post electoral system. There are 650 (approx) constituencies nation wide. Anyone (more or less) can stand as a candidate for a constituency, when the votes for that constituency are counted the candidate with the most votes gets the seat. We do not have proportional represenatation or second preferences or anything else.

The Liberal Party, the smallest of the three majors, have called to have this reformed for years, pointing out, quite correctly, that 15% of the National vote can be for them but they end up with only 10 seats (not 15% of 659 which would give them 97). I'm afraid I'm a bit of a fence sitter on this subject - but watching these videos, I tend to be grateful.

NOT realted to the original idea of the OP.

But......

The use of the"name""Golden Dawn" is ............... unfortunate.............The seminal useage of the name"'Golden Dawn" was for a"hermetic/occult" society from the dawn(sic) of the last century which rather collapsed in Europe and was reborn in the U.S. as the Builders of the Adytum....... sad really.....

so many words have been"wrenched" from their..........millenia long usages to fit a new"agenda".....sad.....very sad....
