I deleted all the modules (b43, firmwares, etc.) an old sempron will never use. Then I deleted lirc (even if an tv-tuner with IR is present), Iceweasel from icewm and fluxbox (I use Rox-Icewm).
At depmod -a I get"no modules.builtin" and"no modules.order" followed by termination.
I changed original kernel to 2.6.39-4-liquorix but the problem stay the same.
What can I do ?

Don't worry about it if booting is ok.

Thanks Anti
Boot ok. Also Synaptic updated ok.
I followed an advice to create an empty modules.builtin file.
Also I created an empty modules.options and the problem was gone.
Is that a way to solve the subject normal or usual ?
EDIT
Or it just works ?

Not sure it is the best way to solve the problem, but if it works without issue, go for it __{{emoticon}}__
I do have a modules.builtin file, but not a modules.option one.
Try update-initramfs -k all -u -t to see if it rebuilds the modules file.

root@semp2800:/home/zilnic# update-initramfs -k all -u -t
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.39-4.dmz.1-liquorix-686
looks like no complains.
Thank you, Anti

Nope. Both files still 0 bytes.
As good news I updated 25 packages via Synaptic, bleached the system including"wipe free disk space" and installed flash 11 (to my surprise is Shockwave not Adobe).
Everything, at least for the moment, looks normal. No more: Fatal kernel error...
