On my ThinkPad T41 laptop the arrow buttons in scroll bars disapears, simply they don't exists.
The situation was same in Antix 12 too! I tought that it is a bug and the 13th release will correct this problem...
What can I do?

have you tried changing your gtk theme to something else?

Yes, I tried other thenes as you suggested but nothing changed.

I just tried clearlooks gtk theme and it does have arrows
