The kde-full in the meta-installer is for kde 3.5 not kde 4. kde 4 is not supported yet as it is not even available in the Debian sid repos let alone Debian testing on which antiX is based.

If you want kde4, then you will need to install it manually.

I think it can be done, see Mepislovers forum for how.

That may be his issue Anti. The meta-installer should have called what it needed/wanted, How or why is it calling for kde4 apps? There should be no way for the user to intervene, the list is set.

I guess the OP added a kde4 repo to the sources.list.

Hi

Thanks for the fast responses.

The only thing I’ve done since installing Antix is apt-get update and apt-get upgrade.

So not sure why it is not installing.

Also why is the install Antix still on the menu after antix has been installed?

Items on the menu (either in fluxbox or icewm) won't change unless you edit the menu files. I'm not using antix right now, but I think you can edit them from control center. Just rem out whatever item you don't want to see any more (in this case Install) or add any other items you might want to get working.

The menus are really flexible, but one has to pay attention to the syntax. There are some instructions on how to auto update the menus at the end of this link.

Hi Pedro

What i was trying to get across with the menu is that after you have installed ANTIX from the CD the"install Antix" on the menu becomes redundant. ANTIX is on your computer. Not sure how many people will need/want to have two seperate cases of Antix running on one Box.

Hi Iain:

That's a very good point! It is confusing. So maybe, we can suggest to Anti to remove the install entry from the menu that get's installed, rather than letting every user rem it out.

If you are using antiX-M8-test2 it has been fixed. You should no longer see the install option on fluxbox or icewm menus.

Also I did a fresh install and successfully added kde-full from the meta-installer.

roughiain, apologies from me, you were right about the menu issue. The fix wasn't included in test2. (I must have forgotten, I was sure it was there)
It certainly has been fixed for the next test release, which will be very soon.

Just installed Beta 3 and Ran the Meta Installer for KDE full.

Ran perfectly.

Just need to figure how to get KDE4.2 Beta going on my machine now.

I think you still need the experimental repos for kde4. There should be some posts here showing what to add. The meta installer will not do it for you, you will need to use synaptic or apt-get.
