Just posting this because this desktop has a problem loading AntiX i486 3x or Liqourix 3x kernels on this emachine
Emachine Model# W3507
Liqourix 2.6.38 was as far as I could go with this desktop in AntiX 11. I have my pendrive of AntiX 12 around my neck right now. I don't think it will boot though from past experience with kernel installs on this desktop. I am a team member for Macpup developer also so I had this flash drive to test with running live.

They run a older bash and flashpalyer (ver 10) in Macpup. I won't be installing this on this computer either as my AntiX 11 install runs OK on this free Desktop. On a side note though. I got back my IBM M41 back from a senior citizen old lady I gave it to. She cannot afford internet connection anymore plus she said she did not need the computer anymore. I may try AntiX 12 on it (dual boot with Windows XP because she did not want Linux on it when I gave it to her). I'd hate to blow away the XP install on it for now. Just a look see of the desktop This one is based on Ubuntu precise I am pretty sure and is gonna be called Macpup 529 when it is released. You'll notice it uses a 3x kernel also.

Now. Off to see if this AntiX 12 USB will boot up (crosses fingers).

No joy. Only message was

I hit the enter key and it just booted my internal hard drive install instead.

Was worth a shot I guess anyhows on this emachine. My install is pretty current except for later kernels which I have posted about in older posts on this desktop. Something about Liqourix, Debian, and AntiX 3x kernels don't play well on this hardware. But, I guess Puppy 3x kernels have something extra or legacy I guess.

Since Puppy runs a .sfs type of file system in a live session. There is no way for me that I know of to show the kernel without installing it first since I can mount the card in rox. I just don't know how to open the .sfs and look inside for the kernel to upload it.

Just playing around. So don't take the thread too serious. __{{emoticon}}__
