but it still drags in pcmanfm, lxde-session, lxde-panel, etc
(and, IIRC, something winds up crippled if"lxde-settings-daemon" is absent)

NO lxde-core
NO task-lxde-desktop

FWIW, I tested last fall, w/ lxde version in debian jessie repos.
I learned that contrary to popular belief... it's no longer"modular ~~ can't just take the window manager and skip the rest (or choose your own ala carte components). That helped me to understand why (probably) BunsenLabs and many other distros have chosen openbox instead.

(also tested lxqt & found it to be even less desirable, and feature-limited, compared to the older lxde)

@macondo. Google( org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1 was not provided by any .service files) provides some solutions such as making sure the packagekit service is running or making sure packagekit is installed and the service is running.

"lxde" is a metapackage ~~ wants to set you up with session manager, whipped cream... and a cherry on top!

is comparatively difficult b/c you're building up from"antiX core".
I don't know which repositories you're using, but"libsystemd0 but it is not installable" wasn't an issue when I tested adding lxde (along with openbox, mate, and a few other WMs / DEs) into"antiX16 full" using antix16 + jessie repos

Ha Ha. I learned my lessons back in AntiX version 11 when I did a core install and built LXDE on top of that <systemd was a sperm then>. Boy was I disappointed.
But being a stubborn cuss. I ran it for over a year rubbing my face in it real good. To each their own though.

One persons poison is another persons elixir.  Like my druthers for pasole or caldo re's  vs menudo.

I think this may be why MX has systemd (kudzud) installed even though it doesn't run by default.
