I think antix has one more folder
/usr/share/slim/themes/antiX
remember that you will need to be root to make changes to the folder. save your new wall as"background.filetype".

/usr/share/slim/themes/antiX is the antiX theme.
You can make a new theme by copying antiX to a new folder in /usr/share/slim/themes, then editing/replacing files within.

To do it in rox open the terminal and type sux and then your password then type rox. This will open the file manager as root. Change the background image and be sure to rename it or change slim.conf to reflect the new name.
