First I'd like to say that Antix looks great, and the install went very easily and quickly on my old Dell Inspiron 5000 laptop (Celeron 400 w/ 128mb ram). The only glitch I have run into is getting the Linksys wpc11 ver 3 wireless pcmcia card working! I will admit, I'm not good at this yet! I have been somewhat spoiled, DSL, Puppy & PClinuxOS all have just worked and I am just not knowledgeable to figure out what the difference is!

Any detailed suggestions sure would be appreciated!

Thanks and kudos to Anti and all involved with Antix!

Thanks Kernel!
I am working my way through that right now. I have run into two"surprises"....First there is a Linux driver for the card on the Linksys site, I grabbed that and will see if I can make that work.... <Second> figure out how to access my floppy drive! I remember the floppy issue being discussed in a different thread so I'll go find that!

I gave up on the floppy drive for now, I used a USB stick to transfer the tar.gz file to the old laptop and I have extracted the contents to a directory in my home directory....I can't figure out what to do next!
Here is a link to the Linux driver I downloaded ...

Sorry Fellas, I've not been able to get this going! I had to install Puppy so that I'd have connectivity....I really prefer Mepis though, so I'm holding out hope that the version 7 final will play easily.

Thanks again for the effort,

Do you have the Win XP (or whatever) drivers? If so, we can talk you thru it. If not, we can't.

I appreciate it! I'll be home in a week, I'll see if I can't get that driver from that .exe I got from Linksys

Thank You!

OK, after not being around for quite awhile, I managed to stay home an play this week! I have installed the latest antiX, still have the problem of the linksys wpc11 ver3 pcmcia card not working. Followed the links from the wrapper wiki, the page on one site is no longer there and the other one (open drivers I think) just wouldn't download.
I did get an exe from the Linksys site, went through the setup on my wife's XP desktop thinking I could copy out the driver..I can't find it! SO.... I have come up with one question.....
Is there a pcmcia wifi card that will work right out of the box with antiX?

Thanks guys, I do appreciate the patience you guys have with those of us that aren't quite so savvy!
