Anyone running antiX on one of these? I am interested in buying one but haven't been able to find much about Linux compatibility.

Download the Debian Squeeze (stable release) 6.0.1 amd64 netinst ISO image here and burn it into a USB stick...
This is with a with Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 kernel.
Antix has a generic 32 bits kernel. It should also work, just try it using the same method for writting a bootable USB stick...

Hope this will help.

So I should be able to boot my antiX USB stick I use daily (686/Testing) and install from it, correct?
I guess if I could find one of these at a Best Buy or someplace like that I could just pop in the thumb drive and see what happens!

Yes, with a amd64 processor you should be able to boot antix off an usb and install. Mepis 11 was released for 386 and amd64 computers, i believe. So otherwise it should work on antix.

Look under the"About SimplyMEPIS 11.0.00" in middle of the page. I believe antix uses the same kernal as mepis but the 32 bit version. It should work on the computer. Mepis has a kernel that's built for 64 bit systems, so I suppose you could install antix then update to the mepis 64 bit kernel, if you wanted.

But I guess testing at best buy or some place where they have a computer and let you touch them will help reaffirm your decision or not. Asking them at best buy whether it will work with linux or not is useless. They're trying to sell, sell, sell... etc. I'd use an sd card if trying to boot into a live session, it's easier to eject when they come up to you and start asking you a bazillion questions __{{emoticon}}__ lol
