When it rains it pours I guess. __{{emoticon}}__

Left click just broke onthis netbook of mine. I downloaded a video from

Surviving using tap for now with left click. Hardware problem as problem persists with Puppeee SD card install also. They use cheap hardware on these netbooks. Another option might be to buy a switch from

Thanks for the vote of confidence. So here is what I did to fix this. Physical fix took about 1 and a 1/2 hours from disassembly to cleaning out switch to VOM check to reassembly to reboot and check. Research took longer.

First. Do my research. Links below.

The above videos were invaluable and I used them to follow how to disassemble my Netbook this morning. Doesn't hurt to have all the right tools also (motorcycle shop).

After pulling keyboard and upper plastic casing (plus ribbon harnesses for keyboard and mouse) I took apart the switch using this video for reference.

Which was made with Open source tools like Blender, (wish I had the skillset for stuff like that also).

The contact disk was not cracked inside of switch (whew, was sweating that). Cleaned out contacts with 90% denatured alcohol and q-tips and a razor knife (thin one). Reassembled switch. Checked with VOM first before reassembling Netbook. Checked good with VOM. Reassembled Netbook.
Booted up into Antix 8.5. Left click on Menu in Icewm. Left click now works as it should. I will see how long this fix lasts.

I got Lucky on this fix. Replacing the switch would have been a more tedious fix requiring a solder sucker or solder wick and quick delicate hands (big biker fingers here). Glad this worked out for me. Posted all this in case anybody else needs this info.

Happy Trails again. Rok
