I run palemoon on this rig.

Code: Select all

$ apt-cache policy palemoon
palemoon:
  Installed: 27.4.2~repack-1
  Candidate: 27.4.2~repack-1
  Version table:
 *** 27.4.2~repack-1 0
        500 http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/stevenpusser/Debian_8.0/  Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     27.3.0~repack-1mx15+1 0
        500 http://repo.antixlinux.com/jessie/ jessie/main i386 Packages
Notice Steve Pusser , Not us. Handles latest . So to me. You are asking the wrong folks. But then again. I aint most folks.

Edit: Ok. My Bad. I see palemoon in the Meta Package installer. Which might make you believe we compile/repackage it. But Steve is a MX linux package handler. On the MX forums. On MX Forums is where you you might have ask this.

I have not detailed checked this thread yet.

Quoted from Steve
I don't know if we have any demand for it here, but I built and host in a repo 32-bit Pale Moon"palemoon-nonsse2" packages over on the openSUSE Build service. These are for the really old processors that don't support SSE2.
If you really need to know. I am pretty sure this is the subsection of MX forums to post your question. Go into detail on why you need the latest .

What I got when I searched MX forum is

Hope that answers your question. Certain things with us and MX are symbiotic in nature. They share. We Share.

It is raining all day yesterday and today and is keeping me indoors instead of out side riding my motorcycle or my bicycles. I was bored is all.
Being a desert creature. I don't do soaking wet.

Still raining. Still bored. So

Another alternative is to use the Palemoon installer from the website.  It gives you the newest version (currently 27.5.0).  The installer will also update Palemoon.  I believe it includes any necessary dependencies.  I've used it, and it works well.
Here is the link:

It certainly is fast and according to inxi, it uses less RAM:

With lxterminal, IceWM and palemoon (no tabs open) the system uses
lxterminal + firefox = 441 MB RAM

No vimperator, I am using vimfx

Here is FF:

Code: Select all

$ inxi -Fz
