I understand that different versions of Antix use different kernels. Would someone go through the various kernels and explain their pros and cons.
Antix 13.2 uses 3.7.10, right? SO would kernel linux 3.11.5 be newer?

3.11.5 is newer than 3.7.10.
Now what is good and bad I can't help with, other than the antix kernel 3.7.10.5 has a gcc linkage problem that won't allow the compilation of kernel modules, like the virtualbox kernel modules, so anti did an update to 3.7.10.7-antix that fixed the issue.
Usually later kernels will have either additional hardware drivers or some sort of bug fixes or memory tweaks. sometimes newer kernels will drop older hardware though.

Depends on Hardware what is good or not,
The older the hardware. A old kernel is better because of kernel regression dropping old hard ware support in the newer kernels.

The newer the hardware. Newer Kernels have btter support for new hardware features so it is better in that scenario/

Many thanks to you dolphin and you rok. That clears a lot of things up for me. __{{emoticon}}__ The newer kernels usually include support for newer hardware, dropping the older hardware. So I would definitely need to be sure the kernel I'm working with DOES SUPPORT my hardware. I intend to start playing around with the kernels to make"my own" version of AntiX.
One thing I have noticed about this forum is that almost everybody tries to explain WHAT and WHY something happens besides how to solve it. That makes things easier to learn and remember. __{{emoticon}}__

If you do install newer kernels, make sure you keep at leasy one working old one. Just in case __{{emoticon}}__
