device: Gigabyte GN-WB01GS usb
the mepis 2.6.22 kernel crashes on boot when the wlan interface is enabled as default with this
solution: enabled mepis 6x repos and installed 2.6.15 kernel
(machine has only IDE disks --fixed fstab and grub menu)
Works now.

So the Mepis 2.6.15 kernel is debian compliant ie for antiX-M7 series?

Well, it installs and works just fine. I guess it's not very different from the mepis 2.6.22 kernel. Install wothout complaint and works fine with this gigabyte card + ndiswrapper (adding win drivers to the kernel like that is of course asking for trouble). I had to change /dev/sdx to /dev/hdx in fstab and /boot/grub/menu.list.anticapitalista wrote:So the Mepis 2.6.15 kernel is debian compliant ie for antiX-M7 series?
The machine in question belongs to non-computer adept relatives, I need it to work and the 2.6.15 kernel is tried and trusted, a good release
