If that comment was aimed at me, I tend to use mc a lot. __{{emoticon}}__

Ediit: GUI filemanagers don't show . (dot) files by default.
Edit2: I also find it quicker to use the CLI with 'cp -a'.

True, but take one second to hit Ctrl-H and thunar will do it for the rest of your life!
