Did you use the F5 keys for safe graphics on that old PC on the AntiX grub screen on live boot?

Does Fluxbox or IceWM work?
There could be a problem with the jwm desktop icons. If either Fluxbox or IceWM work then you could try running jwm without desktop icons.

Hi
it's during"waiting for /dev to be fully populated" that policy becomes more small on my new PC.
With my old PC, policy doesn't change.
Any idea?

I am not sure but on that emachine of mine that came out of the trash. It is a desktop computer. I had a heck of a time booting AntiX on it at version 12
and base iso 11 was the only one that would boot on it with a 2.6 kernel.
Then I dist-upgraded till I got to current with it. Took some effort and work.
After I replaced the cmos battery on it. Newer kernels started playing better with it.
I am not saying this is your problem on that older computer (because I do not even know what kind of old pc you are talking about).
Your posts are sparse and very short on details, so it is kind of hard to even give you advice on what is going wrong and how to fix it.
For example
Machine: System: LENOVO product: 6075BHU version: ThinkCentre M57
Mobo: LENOVO model: LENOVO Bios: LENOVO version: 2RKT41AUS date: 03/20/2008
Machine: System: LENOVO product: 6075BHU version: ThinkCentre M57
CPU: Dual core Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2160 (-MCP-) cache: 1024 KB flags: (lm nx sse sse2 sse3 ssse3)
Memory: 1980.8MB
instead of just old computer.

Try it with a lower DPI, if you can, (your screen may not support DPI 96).
N.B. The /dev takes quite a while to sort itself out on older machines; minutes rather than seconds.

With the Dell model # most of us could try to figure out what may be wrong.
Look at my JUNKBOX.

Try adding this at the boot menu. Just type it at that screen, you should see it just below the menu.
xres=1024x768 or vga=788
