Hello fellow Antix Community,

I'm a fairly new AntiX user (or generally new to linux) and I'm quite happy with it actually even though I have some limitaions I can live with. Some things of them could be changed but I just did not manged to do it (e.g. real battery display, auto mount, drag & drop destkop symbols/links. But their is one more thing I have to manage:

I want to create a music library on my computer which I can use to sync my iphone with. On Windows or Mac the standart program is iTunes ofc but which program should I use on AntiX? And HOW should I do it from start to finish?

I've found a couple of program names and solutions in da internetz but they are not for AntiX or Debian or I don't know how to use them.

I'm using Linux 3.7.10-antix.5-486-smp with rox-icewm, do you guys need anything more?

Some terms I've found while googling: atunes, ifuse, libimobiledevice(I already installed it but.. what now?), rythmbox(package is defect in synaptic manager)

It's not like I'm a dumb new linux user and I don't try __{{emoticon}}__ I even had some successes and felt like real a hacker. __{{emoticon}}__ (e.g. I mounted an USB-Stick with SpaceFM, made updates, installed programs, configured Conky and succesfully connected to an WLAN Network,...)

Thank you for Antix! My netbook is running perfectly fast! And thank you for your answers!

Itunes is proprietary as hell. I have a Iphone 5S and this was as far as I got on it.

post40331.html?hilit=%20iphone

I find it easier to just use my BlackBerry 9530 Storm phone as my mp3/mp4 player on my AntiX install since it shows as a usb device that opens in Spacefm to load anything from My AntiX install to a mobile device. My Iphone is Windows only on my Bike Tuner Windows Laptop. I hate it with a passion.

But the wife pays for it so I carry it. Only as phone/browser though. Maybe some other member went further than I.
do you guys need anything more?
You will notice in my thread. I mention Iphone model and IOS version of my operating system.
My phone is now upgraded to IOS 9.2 now and I have not tried what I did before on it since it was 8.2. Which was done on another Atix installed laptop different than the one I am posting from now. It should get you started at least.

So I've manged to mount my iphone like you described and now I can access the directory of my iphone. I can even access the music directory where the MP3s are stored in random folders with random names. But placing a mp3-file doesn't do anything but I can use the iphone as usb storage now. Yay! __{{emoticon}}__

But I still need an iTunes alternative to sync my phone with.. so the case is not closed. Is this even possible...? __{{emoticon}}__ __{{emoticon}}__

I've already mentioned Rythmbox in my opening post of this thread.
rythmbox(package is defect in synaptic manager)
Soo.. when the pakcage is defect what to do now? Rythmbox is for Ubuntu right? Will it work with Antix Linux?
