Yesss, still alive, now would like to have some suggestion if possible:
after dist-upgrade(I haven't enabled 'sid' repositories)some dialog offers to choose between upgrading or not a package, and I had not the competences needed to analyse the choise;so I blindly chose Y to upgrades. After it, Thunar window waits some second to appear -just the first time I launch it in a session-but it seems the only gap while all other things works fine.
What about right criteria for these choises?
Ok you can say me rtfm,it's just 9237 pages, otherwise so many gurus write their inspired concerns to help me fire my OS!
Thanks for yours welcome post.
(*Third time I change something,be patient please with my english)

On a dist-upgrade. I leave sudo and slim and transmission alone. Which means I say no instead of Yes.
Everything else I say yes. Sometimes it is a crapshoot using the package maintainers version. You are right. There is no dedicated how to thread on what to say when dist-upgrading and what choices to make when asked yes or no.
