For the sake of learning more about the inner workings of antiX M11, is it possible to tweak the response speed between a right click and the appearance of the menu? Everything in antiX is so configurable. I was just wondering...
Thanks,
Dave

Yep. Buy a better computer or upgrade the ram and processor on your rig. Just the kidder in me Cuttlefish. Heck I don't know if you can speed up a program opening without upgrading hardware. Maybe a lighter windows manager?

Oh, I sure do wish I could upgrade !! __{{emoticon}}__ Thanks, roky. Right now I'm in the poor house with a daughter in College and another at 16 is approaching college real fast...too fast. __{{emoticon}}__
Anyway, I'm using fluxbox. antiX 8.5 menu is up immediately after the 1st right click in fluxbox. M11 there is a lag. After that initial right click all is well. I just like to tinker. Like I've said before."I love antiX. It handles everything I throw at it. For me nothing works better OOTB.

Dave,
Thanks for the tip. I doesn't seem to change that initial menu opening, but it does give me a place to maybe compare 8.5 and 11

Cuttlefish, if the delay opening the fluxbox menu is bothering you, in ~./fluxbox/startup file make this change
#auto-fluxbox-menu.sh &
Now this means that the menu will not auto-update on every login, so you will have to use that feature in the fluxbox menu if you install any apps. Desktop-> Fluxbox Settings-> Auto-update menu then Desktop-> Fluxbox Settings->Reconfigure

I've got to say that after working with M11 and adding my own apps and such, the convenience of having the menu auto-update far outweighs the slight initial lag at start-up that I experience in Fluxbox. It is nice to have such an easy fix and to further expand my knowledge of this fine distro. So far I'm very happy with the changes and improvements in M11 from 8.5. I'm looking forward to the final release.
