i can't read russian, but I would say you need to install pulseaudio, which is now required for skype.

Is the absence of sound only noticed with skype? Is sound output working for mplayer and other music apps?

my apologies, it is not the log, rather the list of commands i used while installing skype on antix 13 eee pc. the 1st half of the page did not work, the bottom of the page list commands which made skype work with sound and mike. but my page is not pretty and command output listed is in Russian:)
all after all everything on antiX works great, skype included, lovely operating system many thanks for all your help folks!

r-click, opens just oine master in term window, maxed it up - sound is better, but mike very low. how to max the mike too? thanks

open alsamixer and adjust the sliders for the individual channels up. I think you can right click on the volume icon and select open mixer.

yes only with skype, player and music sites in browser play well.
