Hi everyone! I picked up a fujitsu tablet recently and I am looking forward to installing antix and having fun with it. However I have a bit of a dilemma... The bios doesn't recognize the usb to boot from, not to mention that I need the only usb port it has to connect the keyboard and mouse to it. The only mention of linux on these machines has one taking out the hard drive and putting it in another laptop. Unfortunately this is not an option for me either....since I don't have another laptop to install the hard drive into.
Soooooo, after much googling I have found

on using the windows boot loader. It seems doable, but what would I have it point to? I would also need to have the ISO on a CF card (that I can think of) since it is the only other place where I can add storage. Would

work on handling a cf card as well?
Is there any other options or alternatives that I can use?? Whatever it is that I try I know I need to get the kinks worked out before I try it on this machine so that I don't totally brick it. Thanks for letting me ramble on.....

Hi
You don't give the specs of your machine, but I found this:
Built-in 10/100Mbs Ethernet*
*Requires mini-dock for use
Assuming you have internet access, my way, which may not be the best way, would be to do a net install of a small distro, and then install antiX from .iso off a hard drive partition.

Hi erika
Is the cf card bootable?
Is this your only machine?
Are there other boot options in the bios ?
EDIT: Which Operating Systems do you have installed /available?

I'm still trying to figure if the cf card is bootable or not. In the bios under the boot tab it only gives the choice of the hard drive and 3.5" floppy (which is weird because it doesn't have a 3.5" floppy). But under the security tab in the bios it has:
Boot From Removable Media: [all] <----this is not editable by the user and is greyed out??
I'm not sure why it is the security tab and not in the boot tab.
Right now it is running win 2000 pro. I also have a wireless g card for it. I have my main desktop which runs mostly SM 7.5 and windows xp for photoshop.
Thanks,
erika

Hi erika
You have internet access via wireless, yes? Use unetbootin to install antiX

I'm sorry it took so long to get back. Unfortunately the unetbootin didn't work....mostly my fault though...I managed to get it to load puppy linux but unfortunately I falsely assumed that it had loaded completely in ram. So when I went into gparted I hosed my mbr and partition table for the drive. __{{emoticon}}__ Anyways I did manage to get antix installed through a usb enclosure attached to one of my testing boxes and is running pretty good right now. __{{emoticon}}__ Thank you every one!
