I have the cdrom loaded and want to install to the hard drive. When I bring up a terminal, and type fdisk, it reports no command. Can I repartition my 8.0GB hard drive from the demo? How would I do that?
I don't have an fdisk CD.

You use Gparted (from the menu). The password for it is root.
If you have little RAM, make sure to create a swap partition as it will help the installer do its job.
Also during installation you have the option to launch Gparted if you need to adjust something.

Worked like magic for this linux newbie. I need to set the computer with a static IP, as I will use it as a music player. Is there an application, or is it done from a terminal? Also where can I change the mouse to left-handed?

For the mouse, there's the mouse configuration tool in the Control Center (launcher in the taskbar).
For the network configuration, I think you can use Wicd for that (check in the menu or in the Network tab in Control Center). In CC there's also a tool called Ceni in the Network tab (under some generic name there) that I think can configure static IPs.
