As I wrote to another thread, the hard drive of my laptop was off and appeared the error message:

Code: Select all

IDE #0 ERROR
I replaced it with another disk from an older dead laptop and it worked. Now I want to install AntiX 15.1 from bootable USB flash drive. Should I click the install icon on the Desktop and follow the instructions? If I do so, this message appears:

Code: Select all

Smartmon tool output:

5 Reallocated_Sector_Ct 752

The disk with the partition you selected for installation passes the S.M.A.R.T. monitor test (smartctl)
but the tests indicate it will have a higher than average failure rate in the upcoming year.
If unsure, please exit the Installer and run GSmartControl for more information.

Do you want to continue?
What should I do? I don't see any GSmartControl anywhere.

what its telling you is that your drive is old, which you knew already. It won't hurt to install, but keep an eye out for excessive fsck operations at boot up. or slow performance if your disk is still reallocating bad sectors.

It seems to work perfectly. Thank you.
