I'd like to learn some commands for other distros such as but not limited to: Fedora, OpenSUSE, and Puppy Linux.

Perhaps if they have their own special way of compiling tarballs and source rpm's, I'd like to know.

OpenSUSE has a sheet with the common commands.

Moreover, if there are commands that all/most distros share, I'd like to know.

Puppy uses a seperate divx.sfs that carries the compile tools as well as sperate commands and .pets for converting .deb and .rpm and .targz to a .pet file.
Best way for you to find out since Puppy Documentaion is scattered at best.

My habit is to try and learn one thing Good at a time. I am rpm and KDE dyslexic though so I don't bother with those.

Happy Trails, Rok

This book covers GNU/LINUX system administration, for popular distributions like RedHat and Debian, as a tutorial for new users and a reference for advanced administrators. It aims to give concise, thorough explanations and practical examples of each aspect of a UNIX system. Anyone who wants a comprehensive text on (what is commercially called) ``LINUX'' need look no further--there is little that is not covered here.

Bruno has departed this world in 2010 but his legacy lives on, because of his family, and volunteers.
I think you can find the type of information you are looking for on his website.
