A lot of videos ! ! witch one ??
And my english is so poor...
I am alone sorry
And I have a problem whith my wifi.
At home => direct connect
At bar (coffee !) it does not work. I see the points of network but it does not find IP or something like that. Not connecting !
My phone connect, when I worked with Windows 7 the computer connected without any problem.
For the battery, no matter, I will test the time it works at home, after I will know the time I can use the PC. (I think 2 hours)
And I need to Know where I can see my USB key and If I can put an icon on the desktop to look in it.
Thank's __{{emoticon}}__

Being deaf, sometimes I have to watch them several times before I understand the videos.
I wish I could hear, but close caption, I use on the ones that have it is a option I sometimes can use.
Hope that helps.

To see if acpi is installed
if not installed
Be patient tremeur53. Paris was not built on one day. You will get the hang of things eventually.
Like learning another language. Something clicks. Then things get easier.
Code: Select all
harry@biker:~
$ apt-cache policy acpi
acpi:
Installed: 1.7-1
Candidate: 1.7-1
Version table:
*** 1.7-1 0
500 http://ftp.ca.debian.org/debian/ jessie/main i386 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install acpi -y

1) desktopMenu, click"Control Centre" (i don't know what it would say in French)
2) in the Control Centre, click"Edit System Monitor(conky)" icon.
This loads .conkyrc (configuration file) ( geany /home/yourusername/.conkyrc ) into a text editor
3) in editor, scroll down to around line 210
5) perform File}}Save action in editor, then close editor
Afterward, after the conky utility has been stopped/restarted (when you logout, then login again)(or, in a terminal, command"killall conky" then"conky") you should see an onscreen"battery state indicator" displayed.

rok, do you remember the"batti" tray widget?
batti-gtk-solved-t4662.html?hilit=battery%20monitor
It's not in debian repos & its googlecode project page is gone

Here ya go. I'll tar mine up and upload my extracted source folder.
Simple dumb way to run batti for tremeur53
download and extract the tar using xarchiver in /home/<whatever user name is in your home folder>/
example
go inside the batti folder and just left click on batti. You should end up with a icon in taskbar with battery values shown.
I will now go to my other thread and upload a tar.gz there also for prosperity reasons.

thx for upload.
I didn't recall it being so large. Sure enough, when I went to look at its source code, discovered the archive file contains recursively pathed, multiple copies
/home/demo/Downloads/batti-0.3.8/batti-0.3.8/batti-0.3.8/batti-0.3.8/src
Within the sourcecode, I found an online location
========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"https://gitorious.org/batti/batti"
linktext was:"https://gitorious.org/batti/batti"
====================================
and discovered there's a slightly changed, newer, version. (a never-released v0.3.9?)
FYI, this 4-line edit is the only functional change (all others are translation tweaks).
It results in a blinking tray icon when battery is discharging + less than 5% remaining...
...and a non-blinking icon otherwise

We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System
Administrator. It usually boils down to these three things:
#1) Respect the privacy of others.
#2) Think before you type.
#3) With great power comes great responsibility.

Thank you all, but it's too complicated English.
I'll get a French forum.
Otherwise I'll look for another linux distribution.
I am really sorry.
Or I buy a new laptop that works with windows! Windows XP no longer works on my old Thinkpad! I have no money ! !
antix I really like.
I just want a wifi that works (I'll buy another USB wireless key) and to use my USB key. For the battery, it is not serious. I can do without it.

The wifi connect at home when I start the laptop. But it disconnect a time later !
Outside (Bar) it does not work.
I try to explain :
I Write a book. I write about an online Wiki on my server. So I need wifi everywhere I go.
I just need internet and freeoffice.
I am 63 !
I was a web developer. I stopped working for writing my book. I'm not rich and I love my Thinkpad! !
