Instead you have to go to the main menu and click on Restart IceWM.
Please fix. Thank you.

You can view (and are free to change change) the keybind definitions, stored in ~/.icewm/keys
Clicking"ControlCenter --} Edit IceWM Settings" will open this file in an editor for you.

@Shay: I wasn't trying to log out of the Xs, that I got in my .xinitrc, I was trying to restart IceWM after doing changes.

@skidoo: I tried .icewm/prefoverride but it didn't work.

Gents, I'm trying to restart IceWM after doing some changes.

In other distros Ctrl+Alt+Delete +r does the trick if your distro is in English, this is the default.

"The prefoverride file is new from IceWM 1.2.12. In this file you can specify any preference which will
override any preference specified by theme or anything else. This is introduced to solve troubles with order of
preferences interpretation and give a user possibility to customize global things he wants to have always the same.
Yeah... but it didn't work, eh. So...

Other distros run systemd . The icewm menu restart has been my mainstay since AntiX 7.

You being a long time member and user? Musta forgot that? Is all I can figure. There is nothing to fix here.

My control alt delete brings up the shutdown gui . In Linux_lite. Which is Ubuntu based. No chance of getting the +r to take before the shutdown gui shows;
So not sure where you get it is the default in other distros. That use Window Managers, No systemd in their install, etc.........

The only reason I am on this Dell XT2 right now. I am preparing it for a trip to West Virgina in the Saddle Bags of my motorcycle next Friday. I will be gone the 1st few weeks of July.

I will remind Anti when I get ready to leave.

Now I know on some distros. Ctrl + Alt + Del reboots the computer. But does not restart a Window Manager. Maybe brighter minds than mine can correct me on that.

You know what? Point to some documentation like in BBQ linux or other Window Manager distro. Though everyone is using systemd now.
We aint.

You always have been a sharper pencil than me though in the Linux cup. __{{emoticon}}__

Maybe it's not bound to those keys - most distros that I've used let that through to the system for a reboot.

I'm using Devuan and Slackel. ALL without systemd.
The way it works is like this: Ctrl-Alt-Delete - You get what's on the picture and click on what you want OR type the letter that is underlined (in this case,"r" for restarting IceWM) Better than pointing and clicking mouse.

I'm familiar with .icewm/keys, and I can edit a file without the Control Center; what I'm referring to, is a default item that comes with IceWM.

The devs are missing something.

This problem does not appear in Debian, Devuan, Slackel, or FreeBSD when I use them.
Thanks,

antiX stretch and sid (note there is NO final antiX stretch release yet, only alpha builds) uses a much later build of icewm than debian/devuan.

I think what skiddo is pointing at is you need to remove the keybind for the exit dialog in ~/.icewm/keys to be able to have that dialog again. It has been purposely changed from the default icewm logout dialog to the exit dialog to make it consistent with the other window managers and make it easy to work for all sessions. I have always used the arrow keys myself on the antix exit dialog but perhaps an alt + letter combination can be added to that ?
