Hello. I just found mepis11. I love it. So I needed a system that I can put on a small
system. So hear I am to learn. But I was hoping to get all here.
Please help me set it up so I can learn from scratch. How to install java. I know this
is not ubuntu but that is what I ran for a few years. And in there I needed to install
sun-java6-plugin. What is the equal to that here. (This is for my wife. She plays pogo
and that is what will run all the games). Got to keep her happy. But I'm in the middle
of helping a bunch of freinds to switch over from windows to linux. And some have a
small system.
So that is why I'm looking at anti x. I'm going back to mepis 11 as soon as I learn how
to set this up to run on steroids.
So for give me by asking for help this way. But it will help newbie to find it all in one place
for the set up basics. Like what to add in the repositories and which one to get rid of.
So please give what you know so it goes around in one place. This is what I'm running:
Anti x-M11-486
linux 2.6.36-1-mepis.

First thing I just found out. Before upgradiing anything you need to
purge myspell-el-gr and to do that open terminal as root and paste
this in there: apt-get purge myspell-el-gr
Then paste this in there: apt-get update
Then paste this: apt-get dist-upgrade
If you do this first before you update your system you will not get
this error:
apt-get purge myspell-el-gr
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages will be REMOVED:
myspell-el-gr*
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 to remove and 29 not upgraded.
1 not fully installed or removed.
After this operation, 7,094 kB disk space will be freed.

Removing myspell-el-gr ...
/var/lib/dpkg/info/myspell-el-gr.postrm: 5: /var/lib/dpkg/info/myspell-el-gr.postrm: update-openoffice-dicts: not found
dpkg: error processing myspell-el-gr (--purge):
subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 127
configured to not write apport reports
Errors were encountered while processing:
myspell-el-gr
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
Hope this helps some newbie's
