I guess what it means is that i can not access the floppy drive. the CD, DVD, USB flash, and other hard drive partitions can be mounted but not the floppy.
I downloaded the Seamonkey browser and the graphics card driver but I am waiting for someone to tell me the correct way to install them. Can I safely install Fluxbox on another hard drive partition?

Eh.. ok,

So it is"just" that antix can't find the floppy drive...
If you could post the output of inxi -F I think we could see it it shows up there.
(go to a terminal, and type inxi -F (notice the space, and big F))
Most of the hardware on your computer should show up there, so we can look for the floppy drive.

What kind of file did the seamonkey browser, and card driver come as? Are they .deb files, tar, tar.gz???

As I said, you have already installed fluxbox, it is included in antix, you just have to choose if you want to use icewm, fluxbox, jwm, dwm, or wmii when you log in. (press F1 to toggle what window manager you want, while you are typing in your username, and password)

But, if you really want, I suppose you could install again, on a different partition, and set it to default to fluxbox, if you feel that is right for you...

I am sorry that I am so slow, but I just don't want to send you off in the wrong direction.

I installed Fluxbox on another partition and I'm using it now. It's too eary for me to know if I will like it better than Icewm but I'll soon see.

I do not know if anyone would even care; but both Icewm and fluxbox are available in the bootloader.

Oh, can you copy and paste exactly what menu.lst says?
Go to the crossed wrenches in toolbar of Icewm

Open it up. Go to system. Open Edit config files button.
Type in password.

Copy and paste in code tags your menu.lst . The default location of menu.lst is in / boot/grub/men.lst.

You forgot your /bootgrub/menu.lst cuz.

I am not going to tell you how to comment out the cd sources. Why. Because I bet you have not done a

I have never had to comment out cd sources in any of my AntiX installs. That is because I do a apt-get update right after a install. Then I reboot. More menu items show up in grubs menu list after that. If you still have cd sources. Then I will need to see

See how I removed the / in front of etc. This is a known forum bug that you were unaware off is all. No big deal. Also. There is no cd sources in your etc/apt/sources.lst. So no need to remove them. Like I mentioned earlier. Hang in there Cuz. We'll get you there in time. Just be patient and do your Zen thing. Keep the temper lassoed and drink some tea. Luv ya bro.

Mess with those till we get your printer working first. Then your nvidia card next (in another thread also). Then we will show you what to do with seamonkey. By the Way. Iceape is Seamonkey in Debian. Probably easier to just open synaptic package manager since you already did a apt-get update and type in iceape into the search box and install it. Then delete the seamonkey tar.bz2 file.

Neither su -c or sux worked for an apt-get update. However I did finally get an Antix12 update by putting sudo apt-get update into the terminal which then asked for my password. So the file I sent you is no longer valid. I will try to put the new file up on AF but if it doesn't post I'll email you back.
Now I am confused. AntiX does not use sudo by default, __{{emoticon}}__

I guess AntiX 12 is a bit different than AntiX 11 Base on this computer.
