That depends on what you have downloaded from the canon-side.
The easiest way will be you show us the link to the side and the correct name and number of your printer.

What do you want to say with its in the library, is it your home/Downloads ?

Thank you : Due to the change from Linux Ubuntu to AntiX, I have downloaded the usual drivers for the Canon printer: cnijfilter ans scangear to set up the wifi connection, but As I don't know the diverse"places" for files in Anti X I made a mistake and the drivers are in the"Library", I don't know at all what it is: I found nothing about the Library in the Assistance ! and the question is : how to bring them out of the Library ? ;)

O.K, I think we will find the downloads, or you maybe download another time to the right target.
The problem is , I still dont know what sort of files you downloaded, are they tar.gz or deb.files or....or...

So my questions are:
Why not simply tell us the link of the canon-side where you downloaded everything?
Why not telling us the name and number of the canon-printer?

No problem ! I believed you know them because they are the only one for Linux since many years !!

For printer PIXMA MX 497:
2 files : download for the printer : IJ Printer Driver Ver. 5.10 for Linux (debian Packagearchive) / IJ Printer Driver Ver. 5.10 for Linux (Source file)

2 files : doxnload for the scanner :ScanGear MP Ver. 3.10 for Linux (Source file) / ScanGear MP Ver. 3.10 for Linux (debian Packagearchive)

When downloaded they must be extracted but I don't know how in ANTI X  : I dont know what means for instance :ROX filer or ICWG ......

Try downloading the .deb file, then, as root or sudo, use dpkg -i (filename).deb to install it.

Ok
If I take the first deb file as it is in the files : cnijfilter2-5.20-1-deb, how do you write the command :" sudo dkpg-i cnijfilter 2-5.20-1-deb" or"" .deb" ?
there is a"an install.sh" in this file but no action, it seems...

With an install.sh the command above will not work
In terminal you have to go with the cd command to the direction of the install.sh (I dont know if you did this before and know how to do this)

e.g.

Code: Select all

cd Downloads

Code: Select all

cd cnijfilter2-5.10-1-deb

Then type

Code: Select all

 sudo su -c"./install.sh"
After installation (hoping everything works well) type:

Code: Select all

cd
to go out of the directory

If you have questions please ask

O.K. , I assume you use rox-icewm which is the default in antix.
You can see the install.sh
Right-click with your mouse beside it.
There you can choose open terminal here
In this terminal write the above install.sh command
