From what I've seen online this is a 3G modem
take a look at the wiki below:
========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huawei_E220"
linktext was:"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huawei_E220"
====================================
You could type:
lspci in the terminal.
Have you tried the below link to install in Linux?:
========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://huawei-modem.info/how-to-install-a-huawei-e220-modem-in-ubuntu-linux.html"
linktext was:"http://huawei-modem.info/how-to-install ... linux.html"
====================================
The install instructions state you could do a terminal install of:
sudo apt-get install wvdial (You will find this in the above link)
NOTE: I don't know if this is a new install of antiX M11 and even if it isn't
it's not harmful to do an apt-get install update before you do the install
of the wvdial above.
Your device looks very interesting... have fun if the installation link works for you.
Also NOTE the instructions are for Ubuntu 8.04 ... This shouldn't be a problem since Ubuntu
is Debian based. From my understanding antiX is Debian and Mepis. This makes the
installation process very similar (synaptic packages).

use umts-panel2, it's pretty simple to setup.
