Lubuntu can be very bulky on various systems; bloated and sluggish.

LXLE's strapline is"Full featured OS for an aging PC". To me, that might imply someone who is coming from end-of-life XP.

When I tested it, there were a few things that I found could be made easier for ex-Windows users. In the interests of constructive comment I emailed some suggestions to the developer. His very blunt reply was that he was not interested in 'XP refugees'.

I lost interest in it at that point...

I have taken the contact for Japanese support of LXLE.
However, the reaction was very disappointing.
Thereafter I do not give the name of LXLE. __{{emoticon}}__

There is a great difference between it and the reaction of everybody using antiX habitually.

I have installed and ran it a couple of times.
It is a more featured version of Lubuntu.
Has more in it.

It must not have left a lasting impression. I think I installed it on my Dumpster Emachine 3507 pentium 4 , 1 gig ram Desktop while I was rescuing my AntiX 11 install.
Just backing up stuff mainly.
After I got my AntiX 11 install fixed. I think I deleted LXLE and kept my Base 11 AntiX install instead. I remember there were some bugs during install and my Emachine
Media center worked a little harder using it. I am no stranger to building my own
LXDE AntiX core install. It was more of a PITA than it was worth though.

But that was back when LXDE in Debian was new and kinda flaky.
Took some work. Funny part is. I still have that Amrel Laptop and that
AntiX 8.5 LXDE core install Hard Drive (hard drives are 5 second swaps on that laptop). I have not fired it up in ages as the P4 it has coupled with 512MB sdram
has left me just leaving it on the shelf.

If I did a dist-upgrade. She the Amrel would probably have a stroke.
One could bump the ram to 2 gig. But I have enough gear and projects
for a lifetime.

I never corresponded with the developer or joined their forum though.
Like I said. I ran it for about a month or two. Can't remember since I do so much all the time I get lost on the past.

I like any deb that can run as a live cd ( and) boot to-ram

I believe lubuntu can't do this

That's why I try to check system requirements before spending too much time on a distro.

I also try things on my slowest machine first, and if I don't see good performance, or a lot of frills that I can easily turn off to get performance, its time for try something else instead.

Well, I liked it, because only Ubuntu 12.04. based distros rund on my Via VX800 thin client with proper resolution. Of all those distros based on Ubuntu 12.04. LXLE best supported IMHO. Their 64bit version is based on 14.04. and the new 32bit, too. But they want to maintain 12.04. version till 2019 the lead developer sais.
It has much unneded software installed, first thing I did I removed most of it. It runs fast on 1GHz, but boots slowly because of too much software. MX-14 boots fast now, almost as fast as Manajro on my 2.1 GHz 64bit machine.
