After installing hplip and the GUI interface, the hp-setup program had communications issues with the printer. I found out that in order to use the default mDNS/Bonjour network discovery method that the avahi-daemon had to be installed. Even then the GUI setup couldn't properly install the printer. It was necessary run"/usr/bin/hp-setup -i" interactive mode as root in order to get the printer to install correctly and show up in the HP Device Manager.

Would it be an idea to move stuff like this to a how to section?

I'm a newbi to antiX. I wasn't sure if what I did was the best possible solution, so I was unsure where to post it. This is the same reason why I posted the Grub multiboot in this section of the forum. Should I cross post them to the how to?

I am not sure, but it would be nice to have a place to search for this kind of stuff, and not the whole forum?
