Well __{{emoticon}}__ how do I upgrade from Lysistrata to M7.2??
Can I use Synaptic and choose for Installed (upgradable)?
Meanwhile I used Synaptic and used Installed (upgradable).
How can I see what 'version' of AntiX I use?
It seems nothing has changed.
Thank you.

Ok, If you have a antix-M7 or antiX-M7.01 with only a few upgrades 9or not), this should get you to a similar though not exact version of antiX-M7.2.
1. make sure the Mepis repo is enabled in /etc/apt/sources.list
2. In a terminal, as root
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
3. Now in the same terminal
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
4. Repeat 3
5. Comment out the Mepis repos and repeat 3.
This will upgrade the apps in antiX-M7(.01).
antiX-M7.2 has extra apps that are not used in M7, just look at the following link to see the differences and decide if you need the new apps or not.

There are a few other changes tto in terms of wallpaper, fluxbox configuration, conky etc that should really be left to the user.
Other important changes are to do with antiX control centre. If you want this, tell me after you have done the above.

Sorry, I should be clearer.
Remove the #.
To do so you need to be root user.
If you know how to do so, apologies,.
Open terminal
sux
root password
leafpad /etc/apt/sources.list
and remove the #.
Then follow the instructions above.
As I pointed out in my earlier thread, you will not see any changes in wallpaper, fluxbox menu etc as antiX doesn't have a way (yet) to automate this (mainly because I don't want to 'force' my menu on a users configuration)

Well, same error on step 4.
By the way: I changed the sourcelist through Synaptics.
Will continue but I'm afraid I have to download the ISO of M7.2 and do a new installation......
And the same error on step 5.
I'm rebooting now......

That error will probably not effect anything, and can be fixed.

Conky says I use Linux 2.6.22-1-mepis-smp
Can't say whether anything has been changed.
Well, the reboot succeeded.anticapitalista wrote:That error will probably not effect anything, and can be fixed.

Like I said, on the surface all is the same, but your apps are upgraded to present antiX-M7.2.
To chack, open terminal and do
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
and see if there are still upgrades of apps.
That is the whole point of antiX. You can keep upgrading all the apps from your initial install (M7) and do whatyou like with it. There is no 'need' to upgrade to M7.2 if M7 with upgraded apps does what you want.
Now, if you want to have the extras included in M7.2 that were not in M7, then, at the moment, it has to be done manually as i have not got an antiX debian repo (yet?). I'll let you know how to do it if you want. (Tomorrow as it is sleep time here).

Do I still have to do anything because of this error message?
And ohh yes ...sleep time too here....so maybe I will be working on this tomorrow. Thanks again,
Piet

Ok, before I go to bed, the error is nothing to worry about.
It will not stop antiX from functioning as it should.
I'll post tomorrow how to 'fix' it.

Haven't gone to bed yet!
To fix:
Open a terminal
sux
root password
rox
Navigate to /var/lib/dpkg/info
Remove all the files there relating to mepis-config (I think there are 3 or 4)
Back to root terminal
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
and to check all is ok
apt-get -f install

Now I performed the steps you described. During the upgrade I got some 'serious warning' messages from dpkg. I made some screenshots, but what I did not know they all get the same name. So just the last one I can show. I think you'ld better view it at

because when I add it here I can hardly read the messages.
After the upgrade I started the recommended apt-get autoremove.
Apt-get -f install now gives 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
But I do have a MEPIS screen at (Grub) startup __{{emoticon}}__ __{{emoticon}}__
I am not sure about having that before. Also my login screen is not what I remember to have had before. I has sort of a @ sign at the bottom right corner __{{emoticon}}__
Is that what it is supposed to be __{{emoticon}}__
