I have version of AntiX-16b2 on a USB with persistence. I apparently changed the root and the demo password, but do not recall what I set them to.

I have tried using the procedure at
========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Reset_root_password"
linktext was:"https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Re ... t_password"

under"Using GRUB to invoke bash". I reset the password for both root and demo to the default password (root and demo).

Everything appears to work fine, but when I reboot the password is not changed and I am still unable to use sudo or su due to failure to authenticate.

I would appreciate any suggestions on how to reset the passwords for root and demo.

On the LiveUSB this is VERY easy. Select the"private" cheat from the"F4 Options" menu or enter it manually. Make sure root persistence is enabled (or your changes won't be saved). You will be prompted to enter a new password for root and for demo.
