Hi,
I am just wondering as to how to install (step-by-step for a complete newbie) the scripts.
My objective would be to get my Nvidia to work. Based on research, some guys said that I can use the nvidia-glx-96 package via synaptic. I am not sure if that is the best way.
I just installed antix m8.2 and then installed sun-java6-jre and other stuff.
Thank you,

Hello.
smxi scripts are installed already in antiX. (smai, sgfxi, svmi and inxi)
To run the sgfxi script have a read of the FAQ
(In menu->Help->antiX->FAQ
If it is all Greek to you, post for more help.

In antiX-M8 installing nVidia 96 driver worked perfectly through the MEPIS Assistant.
Control Center>XWindow>XConfig
Control Center>XWindow>XConfig

Thank you for the very fast and friendly advice.
Will do more research on this Nvidia stuff. I noticed that it is always a problem with Linux.
By the way, I can change the screen resolution to the proper 1024 x 768 using the control center but everytime I re-boot or restart, it goes back to the microscopic fonts. How can I make these changes permanent?

I have a GF4. You can install the driver through XConfig assistant (nVidia Legacy).
To keep the 1024x768 resolution you must add it manually to the"screen" section of xorg.conf (SubSection"Display">Modes).
You can open it for edition through the Control Center too (find 'Edit Configuration files').
*by the way, nVidia cards usually work very well with Linux and their proprietary drivers (the same that are in Synaptic) are very good.
