Hi all! Just installed antiX after Ubuntu felt a little slow. I feel like a Linux newbie, but I don't know. I was able to install Chrome via both the"dpkg-i" method as well as the"exoodles" method, but now I don't know how to add it to any menus or shortcuts. Is there a way to set it as my default brower? A way to make it so I don't have to open the terminal and type"google-chrome?" Thanks- love this distro, it's awesome. (and fast!)

My launcher for chrome browser sits in tool bar of this Laptop. I am running Macpup Foxy right now. So if you go to Icewm taskbar.
Click on crossed wrenches
on the window that opens pick"Edit Icewm"
When geany text editor opens pick toolbar from the tabs shown.
My entry for chrome on my toolbar for this laptop is
My menu entry
Which can be manually edited using the menu button. I am accessing above texts via Pmount in Macpup so I can't tell you how to make Chrome default browser (though Iceape Mail and News in incorporated in Iceape)
So not sure what is meant by that statement. __{{emoticon}}__ Uumm. If ever you need to find where the launcher for a program like chrome browser sits to manually edit a menu or toolbar like Icewm or Fluxbox. Just type in terminal
it will give a readout of where the launcher is located like /usr/bin/google-chrome which is the path to make a launcher for the browser. My firefox install launcher sits in /home/harry/firefox/firefox because I installed it seperately from firefox website in my /home/harry directory. I run it static. Hope that teaches you a little on how Antix works.
Happy Trails, Rok __{{emoticon}}__

Thanks so much for your reply. I really appreciate you taking the time to help a newb like me. A couple of further questions for anyone who can help:
I can pull that up, and when I type in the terminal,"Which google-chrome?" it gives me /usr/bin/google-chrome. Thinking I was being clever, I changed my menu to make the"Browser," previously icescape, to that. It didn't work, even when I hit save.
I tried to add something new to it as well- the above example, and then I tried putting the"iceweasel" pic in there as a stand-in. Nothing works. It feels like I can't actually mod my menu bar- is that true? I'm hitting save, but do I need to run it in root?
Thanks so much! (I'm sure I'll get there!)

HOLD THE PRESSES! I just figured it out. There's an entry above that I changed- boom! It worked. This is why I LOVE Linux. You can figure it out with blood, tears and more tears. Thanks so much for your help, rokytnji. I never would have got it without you. Now, as a total favor, could you help me with this? I like my Chrome windowed and in the center of my screen, but it keeps popping up in the right corner. Is there a way to change this? Thanks for your help- and yes, I'll do my best to fix this on my own.
I love this distro. A lot.

Edit:
Naw/Nope/No. ~/.icewm sits in your /home as a hidden folder in pcmanfm or rox. You have to use view>hidden files to see it. The parts you are editing sit in that folder. So no root is needed for editing anything located in /home. OK.
The antixcc (crossed wrenches) is just a easy way to edit text files in ~/.icewm folder. OK.
Made for your comfort. As you get comfortable running Icewm and Fluxbox. You will become amazed at the knowledge you gain editing text files in Linux. AntiX rocks for teaching new linux users how linux works and supplies neat stuff like gexec and antiX control center (antixcc/crossed wrenches) to ease your way along. Enjoy the ride. Happy Trails, Rok
Yeah. There probably is. But It's late for me. I don't have that issue. I'm booted into AntiX right now using Chrome to respond. I don't have that problem. All I can do is show a screenshot of my top tool bar for chrome. See if yours matches mine I guess. One of the other members may be of sharper mind than mine in the morning and explain better how to get chrome to open with full window. My eyes and brain are tired. __{{emoticon}}__ Have you tried grabbing corners of chrome window with mouse and resizing first. Leave box next to X and _ alone after resizing and close and reopen chrome to see if resize sticks. I guess.like my Chrome windowed and in the center of my screen, but it keeps popping up in the right corner. Is there a way to change this?

You may try setting a desired geometry for Chrome in /.icewm/winoptions
