Somebodys notes on your webcam. Looks like it runs out of the box OK.

You can install, Cheese, or Camorama,or VLC to use your webcam I guess (they are in synaptic). Looks like the the module is in the kernel for your webcam.

Code: Select all

harry@biker:~$ apt-cache policy cheese
cheese:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 3.2.2-1+b1
  Version table:
     3.2.2-1+b1 0
        500 http://http.us.debian.org/debian/ testing/main i386 Packages
harry@biker:~$ apt-cache policy camorama
camorama:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 0.19-2.2
  Version table:
     0.19-2.2 0
        500 http://http.us.debian.org/debian/ testing/main i386 Packages
harry@biker:~$ apt-cache policy vlc
vlc:
  Installed: 1.1.12-3
  Candidate: 1.1.12-3
  Version table:
 *** 1.1.12-3 0
        500 http://http.us.debian.org/debian/ testing/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
Like I said. It should be plug in and play with bootup in cheese or any other webcam app in Debian. I recommend installing Cheese in AntiX for a novice user. I am in my M/C shop Base install Desktop Computer so I am not in my AntiX full install like I run on my netbooks.
