I have edited the /etc/inittab file, and the runlevel to 3. That does not work.

I have killed the x-session, that does not work.

I never asked for the DE to be autostarted, I like to run startx.

At boot menu, add 3 (before you made changes). We are talking about antiX and not MX are we not?
