Not new to antiX, just back again to say that I'm really satisfied with antiX 15! I installed it on a PC that other distros couldn't handle for some reason beyond me; antiX does the trick every time! AntiX has become my go-to distro now, including setting up a performance box for audio production. With a few adjustments (ie cpufrequtils, Hz adjustment, etc) this this is fast and sounds great!

PS. The forum here eats up a LOT of CPU though. Is it the every-minute updates?

Are you noticing high CPU usage for just this freeforums site, or browser usage in general?
To rule out whether the chatbox/shoutbox is the culprit, try logging out and revisit same forum pages.
Maybe freeforums is now embedding flash ads? Idunno. With Adblock Edge and RequestPolicy extensions installed, I rarely see ads.
Another extension, QuickToggles, enables you to en/dis -able javascript execution. You might use that to suppress the browser's CPU utilization due to javascript, at least while browser is open/minimized but you're not actively surfing.

I'm almost positive that it was this forum, as I didn't have anything else important going on with the browser (Firefox), and when I closed the browser, the cpu dropped way down. It was up at 100% (I guess that's actually 100% of one of the two CPUs).
At the moment (as I write this) I'm not getting the extreme lags however. Perhaps there's something wrong in Firefox that a type of race condition starts every now and then. I don't know what it would be that's triggering it though..

My CPU usage is up to 6% with iceweasel on this forum, so you can rule them out. __{{emoticon}}__
