This is for users of antiX with amd cards running 3.7 or 3.8 kernel.
h2, the dev of the smxi scripts would like some feedback, positive or negative (but hopefully positive) about if sgfxi -B fglrx beta driver install works.

Is there any way of knowing what drivers will work with which kernel apart from the"try it and see" approach?
I have searched the net and I have since found this, which might also be of help tp other AMD users:
========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Main_Page"
linktext was:"http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Main_Page"

Last line says it all. Only thing different. I tried it in
/var/log/sgfxi/sgfxi.log for h2
I let it install/write a /etc/X11/xorg.conf file before I downloaded fglrx driver tar package. I just used startx as user after exiting root prompt out of X.
I was suprised when I got to a Desktop OK. I have not rebooted yet though. Will see if I need to delete the xorg.conf then using midnight commander (crosses fingers)
Edit: Rebooted just fine into slim login screen OK. No problem to report. I don't know why the tar could not be extracted though. I have everything from a stock full RC1 install going including rar extraction for my comic books in mcomix.
